About Me

Hi there! My name is Gina Chen, and I'm a graduate student in the physics department at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU). I lived in Texas for my whole life before moving to Pittsburgh, and after many many months of summer, I am enjoying having a full four seasons every year! My interest in physics started with the announcement of the first detection of gravitational waves by LIGO, right before I started applying for colleges. That's why I'm interested in hearing about any and all research related to black holes, gravitational waves, and binaries. In undergrad, I worked with Stella Offner at UT Austin to research star formation, so I love to hear about star formation research too! When I'm not doing research, I like visiting coffee shops and trying new food.
